Ingredients

inch piece ginger
peeled and sliced

ounce
lemon juice
freshly squeezed (typically a half lemon or more)
3/4
ounce
simple syrup

ounces
bourbon whiskey
lemon peel
for garnish

fresh or candied ginger chunks
for garnish
Instructions
Add ginger slices, lemon juice, simple syrup, ginger and whiskey to cocktail shaker.
Muddle the ginger slices well.
Add a handful of ice to shaker and shake vigorously until the shaker has frosted on the outside.
Pour in a glass over ice and garnish with lemon peel and candied ginger.
