DIY Natural Simmer Pot Combos

Fall is just around the corner! I mean, Starbucks just announced the return of the pumpkin spice latte so it must be happening right?!

I love having candles lit with warm fall scents (our favorite is Warm Tobacco Pipe by DW Home #hearteyes) filling the house but after having Levi, I started looking for a safer alternative that would be out of reach from his grabby hands. A little while ago, I started experimenting with all natural simmer pot combinations to keep our home smelling great with just items found in the pantry and it’s been a hit! I came up with ideas for more summery scents using lavender and chamomile but to me, nothing beats the warm scents typical of fall and winter… I LOVE the earthy and spicy smells that remind me of the holidays.

Below I’ve put together a few of my favorite combos that I like to put on the stove during the holidays…I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Directions:
Fill a small saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add all ingredients, continue to boil for a few minutes, then turn the heat down to simmer. Add water as needed to make sure the water doesn’t dry up.

Please note, the following measurements are just approximations… I just throw all of these things into the pot… If you like a stronger cinnamon smell, add another cinnamon stick, etc. 🙂

    • I’ve used either on separate occasions and both smell great! Another thing I’ve done was substitute the orange peel with several drops of orange essential oil. Hope you like it!
